Analysis of The Negotiations With The ELN. Political participation of women in formal peace processes

In this third report from the negotiating table with the ELN, we address the importance of planning for peace with women and the opportunities we have missed in Colombia by not including a gender approach in our peace negotiation trajectory.

While we recognize that the current negotiation process with the National Liberation Army (ELN) has had some significant successes, the participation of women negotiators in both delegations is a reminder that not only should they not be on the margins of the negotiation, but that they contribute more when they are integral parts of the process and are present in the decision-making process for the future of the country. However, there is still a long way to go and there is still time for the participation of women prepared in gender issues to be an integral part of the processes in the negotiations for Total Peace.
