This document presents an experience of articulation developed in five regions of Colombia, which shows under what conditions it is possible to promote this type of cooperative work. It is called «socio-institutional» because the exercise articulated social organizations and institutional actors who, although they had different roles, functions, attitudes and expectations around the protest, worked together in dynamic groups that designed and positioned actions to prevent violence in the protests.

This experience was part of the first of two territorial dialogue processes that had the support of the British Embassy in Colombia and the International Organization for Migration, within the framework of the Police Innovations for Stabilization (IPE) program.
